• Low Energy
With the ever increasing drive to reduce waste going to landfill there is a growing range of technologies emerging that convert waste products into a useful fuel. These include Pyrolysis, Gasification, use of existing synthetic and tail gases from traditional processes such as blast furnaces and coke gas to power a modified gas generator.
As engine monitoring, ignition and control technology advances, combustion of these low energy gases has progressed so they can now be successfully utilised for power and heat generation, potentially converting a waste by product into a valuable resource and potential savings for the operator.
Often containing hydrogen, these gas’s combustion characteristics are completely differently to natural gas, and an understanding of their makeup and behaviour is key to its successful use as a gas engine fuel. Our experience in designing and installing fuel systems suitable for low energy gases, alongside close collaboration with the OEM supplier, ensures successful conversion of the generator to run reliably on these fuels.
